Happy Birthday Rachel.......belated post
Lazy mommy is really late in posting this......my excuses are...busy busy busy....
Rachel has turned 2 years old....and we see drastic developments over the last week.... maybe it's just an illusion within that tiny figment of imagination of mine....
- Rachel can conduct a mini-conversation with me with more than mono-syllable words
- Rachel can count (prounounced properly) both in mandarin and english, from 1 to 10
- Rachel can complete a full mandarin sentence...e.g. she kept on repeating "wo yau siao pian" (I wanna wee wee)
- She is completely without her pampers during the day, except for long-duration outings and nighttimes
- She emulates my housework chores....e.g...she will "iron" clothes....and she can tell me verbally what she's doing..... She loves to "mop mop" the floor
- She can use "manglish" as well.....e.g...."mama....rachel wan sweep sweep MAHHHHH......"
- Yesterday, instead of “a bit, a bit”, Rachel tells me “siu siu….siu siu”…..with her crab pinching fingers style…..gosh…was that Cantonese?!?!?!
- she can now pronounce “raeee….chel”….no more just “chel”…..
- She has graduated from wearing our slippers to my high heels, just for the fun of it….and she can clik clok clik clok around the house fine!!!!
- She sings the barney “I love you” song (not clearly pronounced, but it’s real music to my ears!!!)…..and insists on hugging me when we sing that song!!!
- She can sing the mandarin “ke ren lai” (guest coming), with hand actions as well!!!!
Physically, she has grown quite a bit too. She is now 11.5 kg. I have not measured her height, but hubby and I do feel that she has grown taller:) Her hair is much longer, compared to a year ago, and her features are "sharpening"????!!!!!!
Her 2nd birthday has been a LOOOOOOONNNNNNNGGGG celebration for us. It started off 5 days before, where we had a dinner with hubby's family and we bought Rachel a BARNEY cake!!!!!! She can blow her own candles, and kept on asking to "cut cut cake mahhhhh"

Then, hubby and I bought another slice of cake for her on the ACTUAL day itself....
Over the merdeka weekend, my parents came to town, and Rachel got a big big surprise from kung-kung and grandma.......

We had a cake on that day for her as well, from Baskin Robbins!!!!

Then, Aunty Hui Suen bought pretty cupcakes for R!!!!!! They taste good as well!

We then proceeded to Port Dickson’s Avillion, and had a blast! Rachel loved the “swim swim mahhhhhhh” part…and also the beach…… Oh….note that she can be quite obsessed with cleanliness as well…. At low tide, she refused to walk on the part of the beach which is wet (with lots of crab-made holes)….her excuse was “dirty mahhhhh”… she only walked at the dry part of the beach, with whiter sand… (errr…..am I supposed to be worried about this?!?!)

Rachel has grown up loads and she has learned a lot of new things. I am daily amazed with her developments and the things she learns each day…..
