A Merry Christmas.....and Rachel's finally home.....
Rachel was away for 1.5 weeks.... 10.5 days to be exact. It was good, and yet not fun for hubby and I....
It was good because I had ample time to rest, and I did not have to worry about Rachel's well-being and activities during the day. I knew she was very much well taken care of by my parents..... and she would enjoy the attention given to her. Which she did. She came home looking really healthy (with my parents insisting that she takes her full 3 bottles of milk a day, aside from her meals and so much fruits, and the daily exercise she gets running in the park and going for swims with my dad every morning)....
She did not make a fuss, especially for the first 7 days there. No fuss at all during the nights as well. It was very comforting for me. She only started missing us the last 3 days, and kept on asking her koong koong why I am taking so long to come and fetch her back home....
And during this time, hubby and I managed to catch a movie, go out for dinners.... although we thought it would have been easier for us, we missed Rachel very much so..... the house seemed so much quieter.... that explains the "not so fun part for hubby and I".... But it was definitely a much appreciated quiet time for me, as I am getting much bigger, and sleep comes difficult sometimes. Morever, with no school, I would have worried loads about where to put Rachel during the day, if my parents did not offer to take care of her!!!!!!
She's back now, and I can tell she really missed me, as when I took her into the room to change, Rachel suddenly hugged me and started sobbing:) It touched me a lot, this attachment I have with my girl. Hope it will last till forever?
Oooh, on another note, when I packed her things to take back to Ipoh, she had a small suitcase of clothes, 2 pair of shoes, a paper bag of toys and a paper bag of her milkpowder and vitamins. She came back with two BOXES of toys, 3 pair of shoes, extra clothes in her suitcases, MORE softtoys, and 2 paperbags of foodstuffs!!!!!!! see how pampered she is back home with my parents....
And we had our first Christmas dinner at home.... and Rachel was the only one who received presents from Ah Koo, Aunty Hui Suen and her May yee and yee cheong (although she still calls yee cheong "May Yee's husband"......:) Will post up pics of her pressies later....
Hubby bought Rachel a Twilight Ladybug Nightlight. So, we don't have to switch on a night light for her during bedtime. It's pretty pricey, but she seems to like it. I guess that makes everything worthwhile?
I presume koong koong and grandma will get at least some much needed rest after taking care of her for nearly 2 weeks. After all, she demands for attention most of the time, and they are ever so willing to give it...
A Merry Christmas to ALL!!!!!!
