Shocking

Ok. after the medical checkup in the shack-like govt clinic, I took Rachel and Kenneth to Royale Hayat hospital. Supposedly the best private hospital in town.

The experience is totally new, when you enter a hotel-like hospital. They have a few concierge around, and also people at the entrance to greet you. They even have a nice cafe lounge, similar to the 5-star hotel cafes in KL. Rachel wanted to eat there for lunch. Claimed that she was hungry after seeing the doctor. BUt after paying for the consultation fees for both Rachel and Ken, I had only enough money for the cab ride home.... Really did not expect the cost. Otherwise, would have brought out more cash!!!!

The Pediatric floor was on the 2nd floor. While they were registering the kids, they asked us to wait at this lounge, where they serve juice and cookies!!! Rachel had 2 glasses of apple juice. The girl was sooooooo happy....

Before seeing the doctor, one of the nurses took us to the pediatric triage, where they weighed and measured both Rachel and Kenneth.

The doctor was very thorough. Once you hear how much the consultation costs us, I guess it's acceptable?...big big question mark there.... He explained to me what are the immunisations needed here in Kuwait. And also, he did a thorough check on both Rachel and Kenneth... Everything's good. Except Kenneth has a bit of a stuffy nose, due to being in an air-conditioned room the whole day.

The consultation fees came up to RM528 (KWD44) for both Rachel and Kenneth. Kenneth's medicine cost another RM120 (KWD10).

I quickly called hubby to reconfirm with him that all medical bills can be expensed to his company...hahahaha.... That's how Kiasu I can be....

Anyways, albeit the cost, it was good to get a proper explanation from the doctor why Rachel was given the meningitis jab and the oral polio again during the medical checkup. Also, it was good to be given a good guideline on the immunisations taken here.

But I hope I do not need to visit the place too often, except for Ken's development monitoring. Pray for the kids' good health.....

NO!!!! there's no car seats in cabs. So, I am pretty nervous about it. Can't wait till hubby gets his license here and his own car.

Also, people drive madly here. Lots of accidents EVERYDAY!!! And yesterday, we saw a boy, not more than 15 years old driving!!!! In bright daylight, near a shopping mall!!! Shocking
