Cute rachel

Hubby was reading the book What to Expect.....for Toddlers... At 13 months old, Rachel should be able to build blocks...that's what the book says:) So, he attempted to teach Rachel how to do it, with her soft ABC blocks......in vain! She just wants to push the blocks down after hubby stacks it up!

Rachel loves it when we read her books. She will pick up one of her books, and pass it to me. She will nod when asked whether she wanted me to read it. Before finishing the first page, she will grab the book from me, and pass it to her daddy......pointing at the book, asking him to read....and before he can finish a sentence, she will grab it again, and pass it to me! And the routine goes on and on and on!

My MIL tried to instill in her the idea of how painful it is, if she knocks her head. The objective was to teach Rachel how important it is, to protect her own head, anytime she falls down. So, they will tell her by touching her head, and say...."toong, toong" (painful in mandarin)....and show her that if she knocks her head on the floor, it will be "toong, toong" *while touching her head*. So, now, Rachel's idea of "toong, toong" or painful, is touching her head.

When she falls down on her bum....she will look at me and touch her head....

When she knocks her hand against the table.....she will look at me and touch her head....

When the book falls onto her feet......she will look at her daddy and touch her head....

When asked....."where toong toong"....she will touch her head........
