bullied

oh. Last week, I came home, and the moment I got out of the car, my MIL quickly told me about how Rachel was bullied in school. She did not see it, but R's teacher told her R was hit by a boy who was very much bigger than her. It seems that Rachel cried everytime the boy walked near her after the incident.

Naturally, I was very concerned (panicked a bit, as I thought R might not want to go to school after this!!!!!!) I called the school to speak to her teacher. She had already left so I left a message for her, asking her call me the next day.

That night itself, I talked to Rachel about the incident, and told her that she has nothing to be worried about, and if the same thing happens again, she should let her teacher know. She did not seem too traumatized, so, I was pretty relieved.

The next day, R's teacher called me at 7.30am!!!!! hahahahaha....talk about efficiency.....this reinstates my choice on the school!!!!

She related the whole story to me. Well, I guess kids being kids, these things are bound to happen. So, we just agreed that we will leave it for the time being.....

We started chatting about Rachel's progress in school. It seems that Rachel is quite an attention-seeker. She starts crying when her teacher leaves her to her task too long while tending to others. Teacher will have to hug her and only then would she be ok again..... hmmmm....it does sound a bit familiar. Obviously, I was concerned (hahahahaha.....I am not giving up the right to be unnecessary worried when it comes to Rachel!!!!). Nevertheless, teacher assured me that it was indeed normal, and there's nothing I can do about it. And she did say she will continue doing what she is doing until Rachel feels really secured about her surroundings.....

This teacher is Miss J, and although it's just been 3 weeks since Rachel started school again, I think I really really like her!!!!!!!
