Rachel's interview

Today, I brought Rachel for another school interview in another school. We are checking out this other school, as hubby is thinking of moving to this other area.

The school is a british international school. Very renowned around this area. I have to make up my mind within this week whether to put her in this school, as they are near to the brim. And to reserve a place for Rachel, we have to put a KD200 deposit. Hubby has already put a KD200 deposit in another english school near his office for Rachel. But again, we are still debating where we will be moving to.... a lot of moving hassle and issues which is keeping hubby busy....

N'way, the interview went well. Rachel did very well. In fact, the teacher assessed her and said she is actually ready for the reception year, instead of just kindergarten. Reception Year is the Year before Grade 1. However, the class is full. And the waiting list is so long, they did not even bother to put us on the waiting list!!! So, Rachel will still go to Kindergarten, if we do decide to send her to this school.

This interview was very much more detailed compared to the other school we went to.

Other than speaking to her, the teacher asked Rachel to do a simple matching of wooden puzzles with animals on it. She asked Rachel to name the animals, and also some simple questions about it. Then, she asked Rachel to string these little objects according to the colours she name. (I bought her the same kind of toy, which is wooden by Plan Toys...wooohooo!!!) She also asked Rachel to name shapes and do some simple counting. The last piece of assessment was matching similar pictures on a piece of paper.

I would say that all these came quite easy for Rachel, as the school back in KL did all these activities with her. I must say that her previous school in KL was one of the best investments that I have done in my lifetime!!! Till now, she talks about her teachers and friends back home. And till now, Rachel and I miss all the teachers and aunties that took care of her from 8am to 6pm everyday!!!! The best thing is, the teachers and aunties in the school have the same philosophy as my self on how to raise a kid!!!! The school back home really made me feel good about leaving Rachel to go to work every day..... Will definitely go back to the same school for my kids, IF we do get a transfer back to KL again..... Definitely....despite the heavy costs.... Good things normally does not come cheap!!!!:)

*** did i mention how proud I am of my little yet big girl???
