Conversation with a 4-year old

I was looking for something....could not find it. So, I asked Rachel..

Mummy : Rachel, did you see the "something something"
Rachel : Mummy, next time, make sure you put it at the proper place so that you know where to find it!!!

O_O

Then, her daddy asked her when is the Character Day in school... (where the kids dress up as a character from a story book)

Daddy : Is it on Wednesday or Thursday?
Rachel : Daddy, didn't you read the letter teacher gave you?????

She came home from school with a circular. Passed it to me...

Mummy : Rachel, what is it about?
Rachel : Read it for yourself... then you know.

O_O ???????

and this was the ultimate.....

I was cooking. Kenneth was sleeping in the room. Rachel was watching tv in the hall.

Mummy : Rachel, can you please go see whether Kenneth is ok?
Rachel : *
eyes still on the tv, waved a hand at me.... * Mummy, it's ok....I can HEAR Kenneth sleeping...

*slap my forehead*...Should I laugh...or should I be angry....????!!!!

Definitely angry!!
IMHO, kids should not talk to their parents like that. Kat sometimes does it too, but she gets a scolding and a big reminder.
I think it's all that tv they watch.. sigh.
Or maybe because we sometime treat them like our 'friend' and so they think they can talk to us so impolitely. I ask her if she would talk that way to her teachers and she says never. And since we are her parents and are as or more important, why would she talk to us like that.
KIDS!!

When R said "next time, make sure you put it at the proper place so that you know where to find it!!!", could this be what YOU say to her when she's missing smthg? I find my daughter talks a lot like me, good or bad.

I agree with Eileen... kids need to be disciplined and taught respect for their elders :)

I guess I am the only one without kids here so... I actually think it is so funny when kids say/do these things. I mean, they are probably not aware about what they are saying in the first place... But I guess when I have kids, I might not find it so funny... :P
