8 months stats
Rachel and I took a walk to the baby clinic today. Wanted to weigh and measure her, as she will be 8 months this Saturday.
Stats as per 8 months old:
Weight: 8.82kg
Height: 69.5cm
I think she is not putting on as much as she normally does. The health visitor thinks she looks pretty healthy and normal. So, I should not be worried about the rate she is growing.
BC is now reading the ninth month literature in the book "The First Year". It's sort of a bible to us, where it concerns Rachel. He just mentioned to me that I should start feeding Rachel more lumps, rather than all blended food. However, Rachel has the tendency to gag and puke out lumps!
Rachel managed to stand on her own for a few seconds today. Will see how fast she can develop that skill from now onwards:) We are thinking of getting her a walker as well...the kind where Rachel will need to stand behind and push it. Am thinking of getting a wooden one for her, where she can put ABC blocks in front:) Or, is a plastic one better? Any good suggestions?
It took me more than an hour to put Rachel to bed today. She has this automatic sensor which can actually detect whether I am sleeping next to her or not! Waited for 10 minutes after she fell asleep next to me on our bed, before I carefully carried her to her own cot. Once I removed my hands, her eyes immediately popped open, and a second later, her mouth formed a big "O" and she started screaming. Then, I tried the whole routine again, in our bed, then slowly moved her to her own cot. And again, the big scream came. Thought will let her scream a bit, but then, she puked out her milk, and it took us another 10 minutes to change her out of her dirty sleeping bag.
