Kenneth is 5 months old

Yes. He is 5 months old already. As of his last visit to the doctor during his diarrhea bout, he weighs 8.9kg, and is 69.5cm in length. He is wearing 6-9 months sized clothes, and some are even 12-18 months. I still put him in one-sies most of the time.

I have started giving him more water, but only during his mealtimes. He is drinking straight from a cup. No bottle. I can't seem to get him to suck from a bottle. He is still fully breastfed, other than his solids. I have recently reduced his 2meal per day to a dinner at night only, due to his diarrhea. Moreover, he seems to enjoy dinner more. He is still on rice cereal, and the only other puree I have started him on is apple. Will try carrots next, and maybe sweet potatos after that!

He loves his bathtimes still, and is getting too active in the water for me or hubby to handle alone. He kicks so much that sometimes, he does not even care if his whole head is dipped into the water. All he does is choke a bit...cough a bit....and then he starts kicking again!

He has started rolling over from back to tummy a few days ago, and since he can't roll back onto his back, he will make lotsa noise and wail out to us to put him back on his back. But the moment we do that, he will be on his tummy again. Such a cheeky fler...

These days, he takes only 30 mins naps, instead of the 2 hourly ones that he used to take. And he can sleep through the night, if he wants to. But he just seems not to want to!!!! But, I have to admit. I am getting more sleep now, compared to Rachel's time, when she wakes up every 2-3 hours till she was 17 months!!!!

He is such a cheerful baby, giggling and laughing loads, especially around Rachel. He loves watching his sister dance. And can't help giggling and laughing...to Rachel's delight. Sometimes, I do feel guilty that I am giving him more attention compared to Rachel. And I am really grateful that she still loves him so much!!!

He is really active. Can't sit or lie still for long.
He can pick up things easily now. And he can pass an object from one hand to another. Of course, he is sitting unsupported very well. And when he is on his tummy, he is trying to creep to reach the objects that catches his eye! We have to be careful as he seems to be able to do it sometimes. Also, he loves standing up (supported of course).....and this seems to be taking a toll on my arms and back as well!!!!

Another physical achievement. He has started choosing who he wants to carry him. We have had a round of test on this. When daddy is carrying him, and when I reach out for him, he will lean towards my side. And when I am carrying him, and daddy reaches out for him, he turns away from daddy.....Points for those who can guess who he prefers!!!!:) Hubby says that will change when I start disciplining him, like what I am doing with Rachel now.....BLEHHHHH!!!!!

His saliva is still pooling around his face, and this causes lots of rashes and eczema around his moouth. Recently, I dug out a tub of sorbolene cream that I bought from Perth, and hubby and I are amazed how good it is to heal that big patch of eczema! Will definitely have to get another few tubs of sorbolene. Also, they do have sorbolene specially formulated for babies. Anyone coming back from Australia???????

Hmmmm....I do realise that since we are not planning to have another baby, the last 5 months will be my last handling a baby-before-turning-5months full time....
