little joys and pride in life

Yesterday, whilst busy cooking in the kitchen, Rachel came to me and said she wanted to do her small business. I just nodded. She went over to her little trustful potty, took off her own pants and sat down. After her business, she pulled up her own pants, came over to me and said, "mummy, remember to clean potty".....then left to play with her toys....

I looked at hubby and we were so proud with just that little event.... To us, she is officially a big girl now...... she is starting to become her own person, and she is growing up to become an independent kid.

I do not think that we have done a lot...... (maybe that's why she has to learn how to become independent herself?!?!?!) but whatever it is, we are so proud and happy for her, and also for ourselves. Hubby said we are now enjoying the fruits of our effort!!!! We have come to an era where we can proudly say that we have done something, for the family and for the community!!!!!! We have indeed achieved something in our lives!!!!!

All this, because she can take care of her own business!!!!!!

dancing...singing....crying.....the diva!!!!

These days, R likes to wail with her mouth open wide whenever something does not make her happy.....and if I use the naughty corner threat, she will cry louder....so, now, I ignore her..... she knows that to get my attention, she has to stop crying.....

Rachel....wailing a bit....then trying to quieten down her sobs... she will say "mummy, i stop al-dy, stop al-dy....., i want mummy...... i stop crying al-dy...."


singing...
she loves singing, despite not having a knack to be melodious..... her current favourite song is "gong xi gong xi" (yup, she sings the whole song in mandarin!!!!!) and she makes up songs with whatever is happening.... like when she sees daddy washing the plate, she will make up a melody (well, it does seem like she's singing...) and sing... "daddy wash plate, wash plate...daddy wash plate" and if she sees me mopping the floor, she will sing "mummy mop floor, mummy mop mop floorrrrrrrr...."

her favourite dancing song is jennifer lopez's Let's get loud.... and I think she is trying to imitate her kung kung and grandma's way of dancing.... it looks like quickstep to me....and she knows how to do the twirl!!!!! (holding my hand and turning underneath the arm)
When I just "simply" boogie, she will try to correct me and tell me "mummy, must dance pro-ply" (properly)

Mummy and Daddy were on a holiday ....so was Rachel!!!!

nearly recovered from our one week trip to sipadan. diving is quite a tiring activity.....moreover, we missed rachel a lot when we were away. as usual, rachel was back in her kung kung and grandma's place during this time.......

she had a great time with kung kung and grandma.....their days are filled with activities, swimming, going to the park, shopping, going for morning breakfast daily....etc......

for a very long time, hubby and I have been worried about Rachel's incomprehensible chatter..... and at one time, I was really worried that Rachel's speech development is much slower than what I expected.....

the worries I had seems silly now.....with her constant chatter and loud demands and questions....oh the questions.........
